Greetings from Gen Z!

Hey Snackers!

I’m Liv, an Intern at Dragon Snacks Games, and in between classes (and sometimes during… please don’t tell my professors), I play games. Some quick facts about me—I’m Gen Z, I’m chronically online, I love video games, and I honestly believe Dragon Snacks Games will change gaming for my generation.

In a world as crazy as the one we’re living in right now, we Gen Zers want authenticity and connection in our entertainment, including in games. The first time I seriously immersed myself in video games was when I was in bed with a broken knee. The injury prevented me from moving, which sucked turtles, but worse, it stopped me from being with people. While my friends went to dances and malls and field trips, I was at home, alone.

Video games gave me an escape. Running around defeating monsters, growing a farm, and meeting new characters became part of my daily routine. I found that I loved customizing my avatar and wearing cute little outfits. I loved cheesing hard battles with new strats. But the thing I loved most about games is what Dragon Snacks aims to foster—community.

We all need the connections I craved when I was a kid, and between work, school, and doomscrolling, video games have become Gen Z and Gen Alpha’s main form of entertainment. Even when we’re not gaming, we’re consuming video game content in other forms of media. Just look at the “Minecraft” movie to see how passionate we are about our games.

From chatting on Discord servers to streaming with my friends on Twitch, I’m constantly connecting with and befriending other players. Some of my closest and dearest friendships were made through video games–and I know that’s the case for millions of other people in my generation.

Dragon Snacks Games understands that gaming isn’t just a hobby: it’s a lifestyle. Games provide virtual hangout spots where we talk with our friends, make new ones, and grow as people, while enjoying a fantastical place with new stories and characters. As I said before, we all need connection, and Dragon Snacks is here for us.

It’s been a great opportunity to Intern with the team and I can’t wait to see what they continue to produce!

Best,

Liv
